Birdman - Rooftop sequences

So, Birdman won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography... and it does look terrific but I still think there's something weird in the rooftop sequences with Edward Norton and Emma Stone. I don't know what it is, but they look wrong, as if it was HFR instead of just 24p, which it obviously is. Maybe it's the shutter angle? Did anybody else notice? Maybe it's just me...

I saw slower shutter, probably 360 (1/24) and I also saw some warp stabilizer-ish artifacts. I know they shot every scene twice (steadicam and handheld) and went for the handheld version because it probably had the better acting but was to shaky to fit between the previous and next scene. Just what I think happened.

would like to give it another look but i also noticed something off. figured it was just weird green screen at the time, but apparently it was all shot on location (not entirely convinced of that).

however, if it was shot on location, all those streetlights and billboard lights on 46th street could have been lousy with flicker, so a weird shutter angle isn't out of the question

I noticed in in the theater and immediately thought it was a focus motor that had picked up some weird interference...have had the same thing happen and the small "twitching" of the motor compensating gave the same look.
