BILD

Did anyone else here go to BILD? This was my first one and it was way too overcrowded. Things settled down on the 2nd day, but on the 1st I couldn't get into one talk. Felt like BH superstore on steroids... I got into two talks on day 2 and the first was two twenty-something bros from England giving advice on how to standout on SM (LOL!) and the 2nd was Nino Leitner from Cined who's a smart guy, but was singing the praises of A.I. :(... Maybe I'm getting old and crotchety, but it seems like younger filmmakers are putting the cart (tech) before the horse (content). 2c.

I didn't go but I used to work the big shows like NRF and Adobe conferences and random super rich small tech events in upscale hotels in Vegas, etc. etc. and they have been (as you describe) like that for the last 10+ years and get crazier every year (not just with overcrowding but with everything).

But I'm not saying that as criticism, more as..."that's just how it is, that's the world."

I attended the first day. This year it was way more crowded than the first 2023 BILD event. According to Nino Leitner on a post on CINED over 57,000 people registered to attend the event. Don’t forget this was a combined photo and video/cinema event. My impression was more people were there for the photo aspects of the show than video/cinema. Reminded me of the old Photo Plus Expos in the 90s.

Yes, there were a lot of photo folks there.
