Bikers Korner...........

Long time Honda Rebel rider here. I started my love affair with the Rebel back in high school when I had a silver 450. I've had bikes before it, bikes after it, and nothings been the same. Right now I own 2 Rebel 250's(ones a parts bike), and a CB650 that I'm slowly modifying to have a look that's alot closer to the Rebel...I call it the Super Rebel :)

Maybe I'll take and post some pics tomorrow once the sun is up.

I'm with Tom on this. The Kawasaki Vulcan 750 has been around for ever, there are plenty of them on the used market and the prices are good. Parts are easy to find, and they will outperform the Shadow by quite a bit.

On the other hand, I had an -02 Shadow ACE 750 and it wasn't a bad ride at all. Put 20,000 miles on the sucker and had a blast. It was my "re-introductory" bike after a 20 year absence. Were I to do it again, I'd get the Vulcan.

BMW touring or Gelandundstrasse, baby. Accept no substitutes.

I'm with you on that one, but I really don't think it is the perfect re-introductory bike. A bit on both the heavy and tall side. Besides, his budget doesn't allow for it.

But if money were no object, I'd recommend it. Heck, I'd even get one myself :)

Have racked up a few thousand KM's / about 1200 miles, on the Ducati in the past 8 weeks. Actually dont get to get on the bike as much as I'd like.

WELL I'VE BEEN CRUISING ON THE HARLEYS SINCE THE LATE 80S....AND I'M LIKING IT! but i did have fun on the Buell in Austin Texas that was fun , but not comfortable! i like my Dyna!

Some good news... the insurance payment on my totaled bike is now finally taken care of... I now owe Harley Davidson exactly $0.00...

I'm happy to hear that part, Tom.

And on that note you may have heard that Buell is now history. HD is pulling the plug and Buell is gone.

HD is also selling MV Augusta, a company they bought just about a year ago. Hard times, declining profits, and the economy are given as the culprits.

Well Ive got this Saturday and Sunday off! Looks like we are going for a decent haul on Sunday morning, me and my Ducati - and 10 other blokes with no taste riding Harleys ... of course Im joking about the no taste part.

Wanna find a nice nearly new Yamaha FJR1300A.

Rode a little 600 from Atlanta to DC and down to Bike week a few times... far west as Louisiana.

Getting too hot here in the middle of the day as summer approaches, so early morning or late afternoon rides are the norm. Will be up at 5am this Sunday for a spin over the local mountain pass.

Thinking about selling my bike. Let's just say there's little phillie I pass by from time to time that has caught my eye.
