I've been wanting to check out that show, now I really don't have an excuse not to.
But seriously, I have to ask... what is your lineage? Do you have any Indian in your blood? Back many years ago, Disney Land got in trouble, because they were hiring Mexicans to play the Indians in the Indian Village. They figured, "Close enough, just throw some feathers and paint on them, and nobody will notice...". The Indians noticed, and were rather pissed.
Well, you have to admit, the "Native Americans" have really been getting the shaft for several hundred years now. First it was Small Pox, then really bad Real Estate transactions and letting Whitey move in... then to top it all off, we hire Mexicans to portray them? All the Danes have to complain about, is really crappy weather.
With all the actual injustices out there, complaining about ethnically-accurate casting seems kind of ridiculous. If someone can perform the role satisfactorily, preferential hiring based upon ethnicity there doesn't look any different than preferential hiring based upon ethnicity any place else.
damn i know they cut my horseback scene and the barn scene and my throwing of the tomahawk, bow and arrow, knife throw. if you slow it down, you can see me handing the cerimonal knife and me teaching the braves to fight and theres a scene where the brave picks up the native girl over his back, well i'm before that beating the sh it out of an indian with my war club then they cut out my taking of the scalp, and i was the only native american stunt player there and i told them what to wear and not to, but wardrobe still messed up. all my wardrobe is mine that i had made. except the wig (which is mine but i didn't make it!)
licking blood off the knife....oh brother.....these guys thought they were stuntmen shhhhoot they were martial artist that knew nothing how the indians fought. that Apache brother who threw the knife in the lab....threw it from a foot away!!! and it was a throwing knife! i threw my bowie from 20 feet away and the tomahawk.
