Hey guys, I need to shoot a scene in a music video where a guy is riding a bike he just stole, and the bike falls apart. I'm thinking I could loosen up all the screws and wait for him to hit a pothole, but I'd rather have the talent not split his head open. Any suggestions?

be careful. but seriously, perhaps some close ups on the pieces falling/starting to come apart, the typical "guy falling as the camera looks on from underneath" shot and then somehow staging a landing, followed up by whatever other shots you need to pull off the illusion of a crash, that's just off the top of my head. as a cyclist - just be very careful, know exactly what you're doing with all the pieces and plan it out, oh and be careful best of luck!

Shoot a series of close ups (fill the frame shallow DOF) of the bike without the rider, maybe rig it to another bike or vehicle and show it falling apart.
