Big Rebate: $500 or $300

Hey everyone,

Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the big rebate supposed to be $500. I submitted my rebate on 9/9/05 after purchasing the camera on 8/31/05. I checked the rebate status today and it said the check would be in the amount of $300. Any insight on this from anyone?

According to this post from Jan, the rebate changed to $500 on 8/15/05:

If you bought after that date, you should be getting $500 back.

Perhaps they just haven't updated the rebate website to say "$500" instead of "$300"?

Damn man, I could use that extra $200 that they added to the rebate...... Is the tape and battery still part of the rebate program?

Yeah coffee, they're still offering the 10 tapes and the 5400 battery. But based on the posts I've been reading I know not to look for them anytime soon.
