Big Problem!!! Having trouble printing to video...

...and of course it has to be delivered tomorrow!
I have a 720HD 24P file and I dropped into a 480 DV-NTSC sequence and outputted that. Now I open the DV-NTSC movie and with my HVX hooked up via Firewire I get the sound through but only video stills. When I pause the video the still changes. I opened up an DV movie I had and it worked fine. The only difference between the two is that the one that works is 29.97 and the one that doesn't is 24. Does anybody know how I can output the 24 to Mini-DV tape.

You have to make a DV sequence and render that first.

Choose easy setups, sequence presets DV NTSC 23.xxx p anamorphic

Drop your finished edited sequence on this

Render

print to tape.

If you are to do a realtime downscaling, you will need a hardware downconverter, like the cards from AJA or Decklink.

DV NTSC is 60i or exactly 59.94 period. You might try to apply a reverse pulldown but at this point it doesn't matter, you've already rendered it to 60i. If the footage was shot at 24p you have the film cadence so relax. If you're going back to DV it means you're looking at ntsc distribution. If you really want to preserve the 24pness of it all you pretty much need to export to a 24p dvd but even this is just more encoding since you've already put it into an NTSC/60i timeline and making it progressive is another encoding stage that will then be decoded when the final output is interlaced, or interlace decoded. If you want to keep it 24p go straight to dvd from a native 24p sequence. DV don't know no 24p.
