Big [Newbish] FOV question: 50mm @ S35mm is Equal to What?

I know this has been brought up before but I fail to recall the correct info.

With the HVX200, Zooming into 27.3mm on the Letus Extreme gets you 35mm FOV. If you have a 50mm Lens attached, what's the equivalent focal length @ 35mm frame? S35mm frame? And SLR frame?

Basically: HVX200 @ 35mm Frame Size + 50mm Nikon Lens = ???FOV

I'm asking because I want to know how many different "simulated' Focal lengths you can get out of a 50mm Lens by zooming in to S35 framing and zooming out to SLR framing?

Sorry if this is confusing.

Equivalent focal length? 50mm.

The focal length doesn't change. The field of view does.

Not really sure what you're asking. The HVX/LEX can simulate all those formats, and maybe even 16mm as well, I haven't tried zooming in that far. But in all those cases, 50mm = 50mm.

Somehow I suspect what you're asking is "what's the zoom setting for simulating SLR frame size?" and "what's the zoom setting for simulating S35 frame size", etc... if that's what you want to know, use the Panavision calculator to figure out a specific frame size and distance combination that works for you (i.e., plink around with 50mm focal length and change the format and the distance until you get a frame size you like, such as 11" wide). Then, assuming you're going with 11", tape up a sheet of paper at that same distance from the focal plane, then adjust your zoom into the ground glass until you're just framing the edges of the sheet right on the edge of the frame.

Right that's what I was askin' about, the equivalent FOV of a lens at different frame sizes.

What FOV does a 50mm have @ SLR Frame size and what FOV does it have @ S35 frame size?

Again, I suck at explaining this stuff.
