Hello,
I just ordered the trusmt t2 follow-focus on ebay last week based on lots of positive reviews ive heard in the forums and it finally arrived today. this is my first follow-focus unit so i don't have much to compare it to, but im noticing one big issue: i can't seem to get the link that allows you to adjust the position of the gearbox tightened so that it doesn't move. no matter how hard i tighten the blue tightening knob, the link still moves fairly easily and the gears will eventually move apart after a few minutes of what i would consider regular use. I even tightened up everything with the provided hex key but it didn't help.
so, am i missing something? i want to get more info before i contact the company, so im hoping someone with this follow-focus confirm whether or not their unit does the same. it seems as though everything else about the unit is rock solid, so i have to guess that this is a defect as i can't imagine using it as is. i'm a little worried because i live in the US and the last thing i want to do is have to ship this thing back, or whatever else.
one other thing, does anyone use this with any of the Zeiss ZE lenses? the hardstops seem as though they would be very useful on autofocus lenses, but it seems like the only option on the manual zeiss lenses is to remove them as they only allow the focus ring to move about half-way?
any help is appreciated, thanks!!
(PS: i just want to note that i am not trolling, im a real customer-- apparently a few domestic distributors have been doing this-- i'm definitely not one of them)
