Big Brand Web Video/Budget

I'm a freelance videographer and have been asked to quote on a big brand marketing video for social media.

5x1 minute videos, 1 location, single camera (7D), 2 kino flos, shooting a talking host.

For the Shoot and edit, how much would you charge? WHat is the standard rate for this work?

There really is no global standard rate. Rates in Los Angeles will vary from rates in Oklahoma which will vary from rates in Toronto. Why don't you just take what your rate is and multiple it by how many hours you think the whole project will take (w/some pad of course for anything unforeseen that comes up)?

Budgets for web videos run the gamut from guys like Adam Lisagor (www.sandwichvideo.com) who typically starts at the $50K range and goes to the $100K range, though more typically a lot of companies I've worked with tend to charge in the $10K to $20K range per web video. It really depends on your portfolio and the kind of clients you have access to. My company does a lot of web videos and we're in the $20K to $30K range typically though we started out doing stuff from $5K to $10K. You'll need to take into consideration the cost for your time, your crew, host, music (are you using a composer or royalty free music?) and location cost. I do a podcast on commercial production that occasionally goes into some of these issues. My first guest was actually Adam Lisagor who in my opinion does some of the best web/product intro videos out there:

Hope this helps,
