Beware of scam online festivals!!

I've tried to update some awards I've won into my IMDB page but the administrator told me that most of the festivals were bogus and might not exist at all.

This really made me sad and angry at the same time. I decided to go back and check the Annual Program without Frontiers's website's legitimacy and found some scary things about them.

If any of you had had a bad experience concerning this website please go to this link and read some of the comments and leave yours if needed. You can read my comment unde the visitor name "MOMO".

How do you update an account on IMDB? I'm listed on there but I never made an account or added anything

I'd love to enter WHERE SILENCE FALLS on IMDB, but as far as I've heard they don't recognize DVXuser as a legit film festival, since it's all online.

It isn't because it's all online- it's because there is no screening process. Anyone can enter, and that nullifies it.

Or as is my understanding of it.

Yeah that's what I was about to say.

I finally got Shed on there because it's in the Sundance Channel website.

Texas Fortune is on there because it screened at Troma Dance.

It has to be a festival that they think is legit which usually means it has some kind of screening process, although they've turned their noses at a few direputable festivals that do have screening processes. Other than that the rule is it must be "of general interest" to qualify. So if Brad Pitt directed a short for DVXuser it would get on there because that would be of interest to cheerleaders in the midwest who think DVX is probaly a rapper.

However, once you have credits in a certain category I think you can add credits that don't meet the requirements otherwise. So I THINK I should be able to get my other films on there now as additional director credits since I have a director credit on there.

Well now I know what to call myself if I ever commit full time to being a rapper... right now it's only a part time gig, an occasional wedding or two a month...
