Better starting kit for the money than this?

what kind of stuff do you want to use this kit for?

Depending on what you want to do, you might be let down by the performance of that kit. Thoses typically make really harsh light, and when diffused, just makes a less light, but still harshly directed.... ive used them before... not much of a fan, plus they have color temp. issues.
 
Britek better? should I just get like one pretty good light then buy some home depot lights for now until I can get ari or what do you guys think?
 
I would go with britek and get some rolls of gels. Britek arn't bad for the price, but I understand you gotta start somewhere. You can atleast get some more powerful gear that way, and more likely light more of what you want.

As for using home depot lights till you get some arri, I don't suggest, those things are only good for roasting smores, and burning down houses, in my opinion.
