Better Lens cap??

Just got my DVX (yay for me)!!! But I am not too happy with the lens cap situation. Does anyone make a replacement that clips in more securely? Is there an easy cool way to attach it to the camera so I don't lose it? Or barring that, where can I buy a half dozen replacements cheap ?

It does kinda suck the way it clips on. I once lost mine for like 3 months and it turned up under my truck seat. Don't have a clue how it ended up there as the camera's never been in my vehicle outside of the case.
As phd said - get a good UV for protecting that front element. It'll be the best $40-60 you ever spent when someone throws something at you and cracks that baby. It happens......

I have a Nikon lens (for my still camera) with a 72mm thread. The Nikon lens cap fits really well on the DVX lens. It's a tight hold, and no fumbling around.

Speaking of lens caps...
Anyone who has the Chrosziel sunshade - what do you use as a lens cap? The old one won't fit. I would like to leave the sunshade on the camera when I pack it into the Pelican, but it has to be taken apart, along with the step-up ring in order to get a lens cap on there. The french flag doesn't completely cover the opening when folded down.

Also, I can't use my UV filter anymore - it pushes the step-up ring into view. Any alternative to this (besides gatting a 4x4 UV filter and leaving that in all the time)?

Seems like a little more consideration could have been taken for such an expensive piece of plastic.

I'd use one of 'em. . .

I'd use one of 'em. . .

ehh, probably not very well. The surface area that you would be able to push that on to wouldnt be enough to hold it in place very well. After a while, you sort of get the hang of the panny one. I would say that one wouldn't hold very securely on the front of the lense...
