Beta SP Capture?

HI!
I have found a old Incite Editor workstation with a Matrox card (LE i think it was) but i really need to know what codec to use for getting the most out of capturing Beta SP(PAL)=(maximium quality?
Im totaly new to the Beta SP(PAL) format so thats why i really need to know what codecs do you use for Beta SP capturing? uncompressed seems like a over kill of file size ,or?

Beta SP is a rather old Analogue format. You really need to experiment with different codecs on your system that can capture in real-time yet give you the quality you're after. Start with a DV codec. Uncompressed is overkill and it's unlikely the Matrox card can support it.
