Just bought a 170 and I would like more finesse on zooming. I come from full size rigs but I did have a DVX100A and a BeBob zoom controller which was just "OK", slightly jerky starts and finish, I couldn't tell if it was the controller or the servo mechanism in the camera.
So, my question is: if I buy an upper end controller for the 170 will it give me a more professional, polished start and finish of a zoom that I am accustomed to with full size rigs? Or is it the motor within the housing that is not that smooth? If so what would you recommend? The VZ RockPZFI from VariZoom looks interesting.
Thanks,
Ned
