Best way to work with 25P in FCP?

I've been working with my dvx now for more than 2 years, but I never felt too sure about my workflow in FCP to work with 25P. What setups are best for me to extract the 25P picture? What i did was create a new capture preset were the footage is set to "progressive" , with "no fields". I do the same on the "sequence settings".

For the experts out there: Is this the way to go for capturing and working with the 25P material from the dvx? Or is there a different way, or a correct eway, for the 25 frames pulldown from the camera? I notice there's something saying like 2:3:3:2 pulldown...What's that, and what is the correct pulldown pattern? I never mess with that and leave it the way it is from default...

Thanks in advance

Sergio

Your 25fps is PAL format so make sure you settings correspond to PAL. (size, fps, etc)

Pulldown is only an issue for NTSC video since it's the process of changing 24fps to 30fps for video use. (And removal of the pulldown to convert 24p from DVX back to pure 23.98)

Thanks Scott. I live in a PAL country and have being editing for more than 6 years in a PAL region. However, I mainly used premiere and just started to use fcp a few months ago. The 25P in the PAL DVX are recorded in a 50i stream, right? What I would like to know is if I'm capturing and editing the best way possible. Can anyone comment on my settings. I ask this because I get some strobing that doesn't make sense. I know you have to do slow pans in progressive, but this strobing never seems to be a problem on fast pans in hollywood movies...

Please, no commenting on the shooting ! Just on the FCP settings! Thanks!
