Best way to send through Compressor

I know this has been discussed to death, but instead of wading through hours of threads, I thought I'd post again.
I do regular work which entails creating a 30 or 40 minute DVD from one video of the same length (sometimes up to an hour).
I usually send my timeline in FCP 7 to Compressor 3.5. This takes about 2 hours, sometimes longer, which seems slow to me. Is there a better way?
Some have suggested exporting an uncompressed QT movie, then sending that to Compressor.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Okay, I just exported a QT Movie, then sent that directly to Compressor, and it was much faster. Maybe I don't need a new Mac Pro just yet!
