Learning HD recording (Panasonic AG HMC40) and editing (Media Composer 6) and had planned to record onto Blu Ray disc to save and share footage with friends. However, have been reading that recording onto Blu Ray media often has short shelf life (less than two years) which is not good. I am not experienced in this topic and wonder (1) is it only certain brands of Blu Ray blank media that have short shelf life--if so what should I buy to get best shelf life; (2) what other options would provide long (10 years) shelf life and convenience of sharing content with friends? My friends generally have Blu Ray players so Blu Ray disc would be very convenient. Would be frustrating to have good HD footage, but no way to save and share. Thank you for suggestions/advice.
