Best way to Pan and Scan 1080i footage down to 720/480?

Hey, I just sold my first film! And they want me to give them a Pan and Scan 720/480 version of the film. I have a 1080i master right now and I was wondering what the best way to down rez and crop the entire film would be? Thanks-Adam

First choice would be letterbox. Second would be true pan and scan- that is you go in shot by shot and reframe each shot to fit into a 4:3 frame. Tedious but necessary to get the best possible look.
