Best Way to Make Subtitles (that I can change the font of) for Premiere Pro CC (Mac)?

Hey folks,

I'm hoping that you can help me out.

I'm working on a documentary project where most of the dialogue is in Arabic. Our translator and subject alternate speaking in the interviews. I would like to know the best workflow for quick subtitling with a plugin within Premiere, or in an external application that works well with Premiere Pro CC--I would use the integrated caption function within Premiere, but I don't like the font, and the inability to add a drop shadow, change tracking, etc.

I'm willing to pay, if it's worth it.

Thanks for weighing in!

finish your movie, then add subtitles.
you can use virtualdub and plugins to add subtitles you can create with free softwares like subtitleworshop

The thing is that I need to subtitle the source files/sequences before I make the subclips (I don't speak Arabic).
The subtitles need to be present while I'm sequencing.

Maybe I should subtitle within Premiere, make subclips, sequence, export Premiere's subtitle file, delete the subtitles from the Premiere timeline, then open the file in something like virtualdub to embed onto the finished video?

I could really use a hand guys...

What I've done: fully captioned an interview in a synced sequence with external audio--camera audio removed. 4 tracks (captions>video>audio1>audio2)
What I'm trying to do: razor blade and drag these three tracks into a merged clip to store in a bin, and use later as a source for sequencing the full piece.
What happens when I create a merged clip: only the first line of caption appears, not the caption that is ACTUALLY sitting above the video/audio in the sequence that I'm trying to create these merged clips from.

Any insights?
