Best way to make scrolling end credits? (Rear title crawl)

I tried using the Scrolling text option in FCP, but it's very clunky and seems buggy.

Does anyone have a suggestion to something that would be easier to paste my credits into and have the standard credits where there's the character name/ crew position (space) and then the actor name, and the space is kept constant and everything is aligned?

I have FCS 2, and motion, but don't know much about it. Thanks in advance.

I build it in photoshop, one very tall image, and then keyframe the scroll in FCP.

I've used LiveType, but it's really, really annoying and slow. I like the idea of working with a Photoshop file.

I almost never use the text generator in FCP.

I use boris crawl that's included with FCP. The trick is to use a thick font and to stretch the time in the viewer. That will slow it down and make it very stable.

Nice free plugin for the quick and dirty way. I'll give it a try.

I use motion and select text crawl up. Takes seconds and it's nice and smooth.
