Best way to learn Javascript?

[MiniMan13]

I need a Fairly quick, simple way to learn javascript reasonable well. I got Offered an internship this summer and im going to be making a killing for somthing pretty easy. Anyone have any good books/learning materials?

EDIT: oh yea... Maybe some PHP too?

Only buy O'Reilly books for computer programming... they have a "Learning JavaScript" book, which is an introduction, and "JavaScript: The Definitive Guide", which is a GREAT book... I'd get them both if I were you...

The good news is, Javascript is really easy.

I would recommend you check out the following site: http://javascript.internet.com/

I'm probably going to read these books:

Not sure about javascript books, but I hear anything O'Reilly is really good. I wouldn't plan on getting good quickly, though, at either. But from here to summer is a long way, so you have plenty of time to ramp up. Put it into practice building a website or two. Writing code and debugging it is a great way to learn.

I think you'll have fun with PHP ... Javascript is too cumbersome for me, reminds me of VBA ... ick.

Good luck!

Depends on what he's going to be using it for...
