best way to export?

so i see all these videos on here and the quality looks amazing. i'm wondering if i'm missing something when i export. my text usually comes out slightly pixelated, even when i export on the highest quality in quicktime conversion.

so am i missing something? tips are greatly appreciated.

Can you provide some examples of the videos you're shooting for? Also what is your source footage quality and export settings? A good web video is made from the right settings and from good source material.

well, for jobs i have to burn the video to dvd. i also make short films with my friends for web content.

when i import, i usually do it as dv 48 khz or whatever. for exporting i save it as uncompressed 48 khz. i'm sure this is not the best way, but i don't know any other options. while i have decent experience with it, i'm still pretty new to final cut pro...

when you are working with low res dv you need to keep your titles at a reasonable size and an appropriate font. if you're suffering from pixelation it may be the colour space causing problems...you could do the step below and then import the footage back into an uncompressed timeline and apply your titles on the uncompressed timeline to be absolutely sure that they aren't getting compressed along with your video.

whenever I output something I use compressor and if I'm outputting to say digibeta I'll render out an uncompressed standard def file. If I'm coming down from HD I'll use the resize filter and turn on the one with best statistical prediction...through trial and error I've found this helps with harsh edges.

yeah, i just started messing with compressor, but i'm running into problems with that as well. after i drag the "dvd high quality 90 minutes" (i know that's not exactly it, but you get which one i'm talking about) and set the destination to desktop, it says something about a problem with background or something similar. i was told this is a problem greater than just solving over the phone. i'm going to try google-ing it, but if you have any good web tutorials, feel free to pass them along...

first thing to do is boot into safe mode and in disk utility use the repair permissions option...fixes 9 out of 10 problems!!!
