best way to direct a argument scene?

I will be directing a short skit that has two girls arguing in it. What is the best way to make it a authentic argument that goes on for a few minutes. I could script it word for word but im having a hard time thinking two people one wanna be actor and one friends (both women) are going to find the time to memorize a script for fighting. Also the argument has nothing to do with he plot or story of the skit, just something that happens in the background of what really is going on.

What advice do you guys have? Any would be appreciated, thanks.

Hmm, how about starting off letting them cast several scenario - a few of their choice (ask them to find areas where they readily disagree), a few on your scenarios. If they can't pass this hurdle, then by all means write a tight script. Your "would be" should be able to argue using several personas - hopefully the friend can pick-up the lessor role. If it's not working well, don't do too many wide/medium shots - stick with OTS, CU, POVs so you can do retakes with heavy editing.

Good luck, Michael
