Best way to diffuse work lights?

I picked up a couple $10 500w work lights from the hardware store, as my budget is very very tiny. what's the cheapest (around 10 dollars?) and easiest way to diffuse these and get a decently nice, soft light?

You can also add some aluminum foil to that foam-core to make the light a little more focused.

Thanks guys! I'll have to pick some up in the next couple days. Any suggestions for something I can put in front of the light instead of bouncing?

parchment paper holds up pretty well, but still needs to be watched for heat issues. The further you can get it from the light the softer and safer your light will be.

A shower curtain hung on a frame a few feet away from the light to prevent any fire issues works well and is a common method.

I keep my shower curtains close to my heart and love them dearly. They work wonderfully, but yeah, you need a stand of some sort to hold them up.

Anything else like parchment paper or wax paper I think isn't too good of an idea. Safety first!

i use baking paper... figured it'd be used to the heat... right? no fires yet :D but it's hard to keep it still since you cant use tape or anythin
