I'm an Avid user who has recently begun using Premiere (mainly because of its compatibility with After Effects). One thing I can't figure out how to do easily in Premiere is to delete a cross section of the timeline. For a simple example: Lets say I have a video clip on V1 and I want to delete a section out of the middle of the clip. In Avid I would mark an in point and an out point on the timeline and delete the marked section, leaving an empty space on the timeline. In premiere the only way I can figure out how to do this is by using the razor tool to make a cut at the in point then a cut at the out point then to delete it, which is time consuming.
Is there a faster way of going about things? If for example I want to take out a whole section of the timeline made up of multiple video and audio tracks, this would fast become a cumbersome task.
Thanks in advance
