FCP brightness filter vs fcp 3 way vs apple color vs after effects vs autodesk smoke brightness

I shot using the hvx200 with nikon lenses,

what is the best option to brighten my footage for the online edit?

fcp brightness requires no render correct? but what will give me the best results,

this is for a feature film, and hoping for theatrical distribution,

Any sugguestions as to what tool to use, there are so many options, are they just about the same? Is colorista the best option here or exporting to apple color then rerendering back into fcp?

I want to get the highest quality image possible so don't want to just go with a random option.

Any well known features shot with the hvx that used a specific software or tool or plugin?

Thanks.

Color is head and shoulders above the FCP stock plug-ins. I have never used After Effects for color correction, and not familiar with Smoke.

Remember that Color is a $25,000 application called Final Touch that has simply been re-branded and included in the FCS2 package, so it is high end too. There is definitely a somewhat steep learning curve though - the Call Box DVD is a good place to start.
