What is the best training DVD for Vegas? I'm looking for a DVD that is geared towards intermediate to advanced users with plenty of info.

What did you like or not like about the DVD you bought? Was it a good value?

Re: Best Vegas Training DVD

Well, two of the guys who have produced some of the most well-known tutorials on Vegas just joined the forum -- Gary Kleiner and Douglas Spotted Eagle (which makes it hard to recommend one over the other!   :o  ).

Gary's tutorial is more for the beginner level (though he's working on more); Spot's series is pretty comprehensive.

I think Gary is getting ready to release an update on Vegas 5 which which will cover some advanced features like 3D motion tracking and bezier curves.

But hey, both these guys are around here, so take it away, guys . . .

Hi Brett

I have Gary's VEGAS 4 Tutorial which is geared for beginners to internediate and it has and still is a great resource. Well worth the money as my time is more valuable than 'figuring it out'.

Re: Best Vegas Training DVD

Would this Douglas Spotted Eagle be the same one who produced the cd "Spotted Eagle: The Ultimate Collection" for The Soar Corporation years ago?

Re: Best Vegas Training DVD

That would be me. That album was sort of a "greatest hits" up to that point, being my 7th solo album. I did one more record for SOAR after that one, then went to Windham Hill, and now with Virgin, whom I still record for.
I'm surprised anyone has heard that record! :-)

We've got 3 training DVD's for Vegas 5 out there, and more on the way. Advanced Audio was shot and cut back in July, I've just not had time to complete it. We had a fairly large film get in the way that needed some scoring work.
[ftp]http://www.vasst.com/dvdproducts/DVDproducts.htm[/ftp] is where you can find info on the training products.
We've also got 2 Vegas 5 books that are shipping.
