best vacation video camera?

I have had some sony Hi8, digital 8 etc for traveling and home use. I bought a cheap panny to use as a deck and not my DVC100b. It is ok but thinking maybe something better for traveling.

I was thinking to it would be nice to have a good enough camera maybe even to get some stock footage (you never know) when I'm some place.

I'm doing a on going video for a band that will later be made into a DVD for them to sell.
They are playing at the New Orleans Jazz fest in May which my wife and myself are going to. I thought I might even video tape the band alittle when I'm there. I'm not going to carry around my DVX100!

is there anything out there that would kinda of match the DVX100?

If you can, pick up a used HV20 its nice and compact. If you do a search for it you can pull up some amazing footage that has been taking with it, would be good for doing stock footage.

all depends on your budget eh. I'd say hv20, but still its gonna cost as much as your vacation lol. But somthing small for sure. panasonic has some good lower end cameras with 3-ccd and the choice of dv or hard disk. I think for about $350.
