Best thing to do?

I'm just turning 14 and I'm saving up for a really decent camera.

I've already made some shorts and I'm hopefully going to make my first feature when I'm around 16.

I wondered whats the best way for me to get my work out to more. I'd prefer not to go down the YouTube or video sharing route. Should I submit a reel to a film company, film festival?

Thanks.

Honestly it all depends on the quality of the films you produce. If you can make films good enough for festivals then that is definitely a great way to go, though you must remember that submitting to festivals gets expensive really quickly, which im not sure if you would be able to afford at your age.

Don't knock youtube or video sharing though. I think there was someone on this very website last year who spent an entire year making a 30`ish minute war movie, put it up on vimeo when he was done, and within a few weeks was signed by an agent in Hollywood.

Did he get an agent to view his film?
