Best "Teach yourself Final Cut" book?

Wondering if anyone has any praises to sing about books that teach someone with limited editing experience (I've used iMovie, watched a guy edit on Avid).

I'm not a dummy, I understand a lot of concepts. I just want clear writing that explains how to use FCP.

Thanks for your help.

Have you tried using the Final Cut Pro tutorials that come with the software? They might get you going. Then you can move on to some of the books and get some advanced instruction. Whatever you do, it's critical to have access to Final Cut Pro while you read about it. That way you'll be learning hands on.

Thanks, guys. Yes, I already have FCP. I just want to get very proficient in it as quickly as possible -- a guy who can shoot AND edit can make a lot more money.

Jerry Hofmann's book. You actually make almost every edit and decision on a short film he did. Sound effects... edit choices etc.

Plus -- more hidden gems about FCP than ANY other book. Take it from a guy who's first Avid system was number 5 off the line.

I've got his FCP 3 book and STILL use it every now and again.

This will get you up to speed AND give you a cutter's outlook to film.
