Hi all,
I have been looking to launch into the world of freelance film/video editing for awhile now, and since this past April I'd been hoping to do so with the launch of Final Cut Pro X. With all that has come to pass, however, and the fact that Media Composer is still prohibitively expensive as a standalone purchase (without resorting to an investment in FCP 7), I've been giving Adobe Premiere Pro CS 5.5 a serious consideration.
My question is, is CS 5.5 a good bet to make as a freelance editing tool, or should I still invest in the now-unsupported software that is FCP7? Alternately, if Media Composer turns out to be really a most valuable asset for the editor-for-hire, I would not rule it out entirely (even though many postings that I have come across in the past have all demanded someone with proficiency in FCP7.)
Thoughts?
