Best small format mechanical/remote pan tilts heads for handy cams? semi pro jibs

That’s a brilliant idea, too.

What is the connection protocol for the wireless transmission with Ronin to mobile devices? Bluetooth or WiFi? I ask because I’ve been hearing good things with BT 5.0 and I saw that the SC has 5.0 whereas the S has 4.0. These make a difference with range or dropouts. Thing is all the new iPads have BT 5.0. Has anybody had efficient connection without BT 5.0?

Also I saw this regarding the Robin app.

Requires iOS 9.0 or later.
Compatible with iPhone 11, iphone Xs Max, iphone Xs, iphone Xr, iphone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 6s, iphone se, iPad Mini 4, iPad Pro.

To my knowledge even older iPads than the ones listed run on iOS9+. Am I understanding this correctly? I could save buying a used iPad and not buy the latest ones if BT 5.0 isn’t that important. Though I’m skeptic I feel like just getting BT 5.0 iPads for future proof. Thing is, price. My iPhone 8 Plus has BT 5.0 and I love its strength with AirPods through walls whereas my previous laptops with BT 4.0 easily dropped 10 feet away.

Just in-case someone missed it, B&H has the Ronin S on-sale today(Deal Zone) for $549.

The SC is newer than the S and is probably why it has the newer protocol. The SC also shipped with some cool features that the S didn't have, like Active Track, but they added later in a firmware update. Communication is via BT, but I don't know how much of a difference the BT protocol makes in the real world since I have the S... and I've never been more than a few feet away when using my phone with it.
