Best shotgun Mic under $1,000.00

[Guest]

Sound is crucial.(I'll be backstage at concerts and stuff where there may be noise in a different room or close by) Still need to be able to interview subjects on the fly without a wireless hook up. Will spend for excellent mic.
Thanks!!!!

I've heard good things about these mics.

Of course, if you decide to buy you could call Rush @ EVS... instead of B&H.

I have never tried the Sanken, but heard good things about it. I don't sell it, so I can't test it. I can 100% vouch for the MKH416 though. That's an industry-standard.

BTW, the sanken is about $350 less than the 416, so theres a considerable difference in price between these two mics. I dont even know if they should be considered in the same class...
