Best Settings to Get Film-Look??

I will be shooting a number of indoor scenes using the 24p this weekend and was looking for any help on the best settings that I could use to acheive as close to a film-look as possible under the following conditions:

Indoor: (Mostly in a Kitchen and on a bed)
Genre: Comedy (no romantic or overly dramatic setting)
Stationary: Shot off a tripod
Artsy: NO. Just straighforward...like a sitcom ...no artsy tint, etc.
Not 24p: I only have Premiere 6 so I will have to shoot at 30fps
Lighting: 3 x ari-650's (nothing spectacular...just well lit)
Time: Shoot will be all Day and night in an apartment with very little outside lighting coming through.
Output: For an Actor's Reel.

I realize that settings depend on the artistic look desired by the production team but if this was simply to look like your standard comedic film what settings would you suggest.

Our DP has some experience with this camera but not much so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all so much!

Will 6.0 really work???

Will 6.0 really work???

I can shoot 24p normal and still edit it in Premiere 6.0? Why did I think it didn't support that? What does the newest version of Premiere support that 6.0 does not (with regards to shooting with the 24p camera)? And if it does work is there any special settings that I need to know about?

curious...

Yes you could edit the footage in Premiere 6.0. What you cannot do is edit it in a pure 24p timeline; instead you'll be editing it as regular telecine'd video. You'll be doing a 29.97 edit, not a 24p edit, but other than that, it will work.

If you did want to try doing a pure 24p edit, you'd have to either upgrade to Premiere Pro 1.5, or download DVFilm.com's Maker software ($100, I think) and use it to convert your .avi files into 24P .mov files. Then you could actually edit on a 24p timeline in Premiere 6.0.

Thanks Barry...does converting to 24p .mov files or even just edition at 29.97 affect the look/quality of the picture at all upon exporting? And do I export the regular way or do I then convert it back?

Barry or David,

Is 2:3:2:3 cadence still an issue in 29.97 timeline?
Wouldn't you need to keep track of your 24p cadence to avoid phantom fields?
