Since dv slowmotion is done in post, i'd just like to know if there are better settings for shooting with the dvx. Should i shoot in progressive 25p,or in 60i. FCP adds in images every so many frames so what frame rate should be used with the dvx?
Any suggestions regarding slowmo are welcome.

Another question regarding stop motion:
For shooting clouds passing by, Any suggestions? FCP takes out images and it can look quite jumpy but i am wondering if it is better to use non interlaced video (25i).
Basically any suggestions or reflections are welcome.
Thanks in advance,

ur options are 50i or 25p.
50i is better for slomo because you will have more information about movements. i suggest you test and decide then. it also depends what you rpoject needs: 50i or 25p.

A good frame rate for stop motion on clouds is 1 frame every 5 seconds. 10 seconds they really move fast, and two is a little too slow.

A good frame rate for stop motion on clouds is 1 frame every 5 seconds.

Is it possible to do only 1 frame? I was under the impression that 1/2 sec was the shortest time possible.

You may be right, and this sucks. I have shot a ton of 16mm stop motion and that's the rate of choice, but have never tried the DVX. To get it nice and smooth you will have to go into editing and take one frame from each half second burst.

... which is a lot easier than it sounds. Just put it on the timeline and tell it to play at 15x speed, and it'll do it for you automatically -- you'll have a timeline with one frame for each half-second burst.
