Best settings for shooting an old Television?

Shooting pong being played on television this weekend, and just wanted to know what the best settings would be to shoot a TV to prevent the flicker. Never done it, so thus me asking. thanks!

use syncro scan to manually adjust until the flicker is gone. depending on what framerate your shooting, you could start at 1/60th and adjust from there. also, i've heard of people using gels on the tv screen to color correct for the scene, but since pong is a pretty simple color scheme, i doubt that would be a problem.
