Still learning how to get the best from my GH2 footage. Currently using Premiere Elements 10, though would like to upgrade once I have proven to myself I am any good at film-making!
I import my footage as DSLR 1080p25 from the preset menu. Originally when I let PE chose the import settings it went for interlaced. And even now when I drag the first clip into the timeline after opening up the software for the first time it asks whether I want to change the settings to interlaced. I am thinking this is because of the 50i wrapper issue?
When I export the finished film I am currently choosing MP4-H264 1920 x 1080p 25 from the AVCHD options. Do these importing/exporting settings sound correct?
I do notice an increase of moire on roofs etc once the footage is viewed through PE and in the final exported copy. Also on my most recent attempt while it overall looked ok, again I noticed this moire increase. And when played through VLC a section of it failed to play smoothy with brief pause's and jumps. Yet the same footage (moire apart) played fine through Windows media player and PowerDVD 10. Any ideas why VLC might not like it? The original MTS file of that particular footage is both moire free and does play fine through VLC.
cheers
