Best Settings for Exporting

Rebel with a cause
Seems like a common question but I actually found very little when doing a search. So what are your opinions when exporting a movie? Not using Adobe Encoder. Mainly I want to know about the "De-interlace" and "Optimize Stills" option. Do they effect quality? And also the "Recompress" option under the "Video" category. Has anyone noticed a quality loss when using this option? (Note: When I choose not to recompress, the files render much quicker.)

The reason I ask is because I have horizontal lines that show up on clips, after exporting (somtimes) and my tests have come up empty. I posted a previous thread but it was based on Magic Bullet as the cause. Which, thanks to DVxuser, I now realize it is not. MB is still cool.

Any opinons on exporting would be great! Thanks.

Hi PK, from what I understand about deinterlacing filters, they either blend the two video fields together or simply drop one of the fields. You are selecting a deinterlacing filter if I am to understand you correctly. Based on your screenshot, it looks like the fields are being blended together which hurts video quality. I hope I didn't misunderstand you....

Ahhhh Some help and it just happens to be from my place of birth, Houston. Thank you very much.

I'm going to be more careful with my exporting setting in the future. Keeping track of everything and seeing if the deinterlacing is the culprit.

Thanks again,
Pk
