best scene ever

The dinner scene from Talladega Nights aka the "baby Jesus" scene.

The entire Rooftop pursuit scene from the Bourne Ultimatum, The fight at the end of that scene is my favorite fight scene of all time.

And one from a movie i just saw Cloverfield, Where the camera is laying in the grass and is auto focusing between blades of grass and Huds face... Just a really cool scene.

Pulp Fiction has so many great scenes but the closing scene in the diner where where Jules talks to Pumpkin is one of my favorite scenes of all time, a really amazing scene.

A great couple scenes from the movie Gone With the Wind:

1. The married Rhett and Scarlett have an argument which culminates in Scarlett being carried up stairs presumably for forced sex with her husband.

2. The next morning Scarlett is found to be singing cheerfully and extremely happy to see Rhett.

The implications of this are fascinating and Vivien Leigh is spectacularly beautiful here.

I really like the last scene in The Truman Show where, right after the big climax, one of the security guards asks "What else is on?" and it just cuts to black. Love it.

There's a ton I love but here's a few that come to mind, I don't think were mentioned yet...

-the start of the bandit attack in Seven Samurai, just after Mifune's character (I would have spelt it wrong...sorry) finished putting the Samurai's banner on top of the house in honour of the woodcutter's death. ...well, basically the whole funeral "stop crying!" sequence leading to the attack then the panic of the people on the hill.

-in Amadeus: where Mozart rearranges Salieri's "march of welcome" ..."that doesn't really work, does it?" etc...
Also the requiem scene with Mozart in bed.

-City of God: Bene is shot at his going away party.

-I know it's new, but from There Will be Blood: I'd say the (soon to be classic) ending+ "milkshake" line etc...
But my fav from it (I saw it 3 times so far) is when Plainview tells off his now-grown-up son. bastard from a basket!

-one more I love is when William Munny returns to the bar for revenge at the end of Unforgiven.

too many to name, but here's a couple:

Goodfellas: Jimmy Conway starring down Morty the Wig salesman in slow motion, with Sunshine of Your Love playing on the soundtrack

John Turturro's bowling intro in The Big Lebowski to the Gypsy King's remake of Hotel California

The photo booth scene in Buffalo 66

There's just too many

Eurotrip - main characters are talking about something or another, but this 5 year old German kid draws a Hitler mustache on himself and starts goose-stepping in the background. Had to re-watch the scene twice just to stop laughing long enough to even hear what was being sad (nothing important naturally)

Not cinematic or thought provoking or groundbreaking... just one really hilarious scene.

Without a doubt: the "business card scene" in American Psycho.

Definitely one of my fav scenes, but then again that film is also one of my favs :)

Another scene that appealed to me was the scene from The Hills Have Eyes (2006 remake) where Doug returns from slaughtering the mutilated freaks. He's all f*cked up carrying his baby daughter and the families dog. Such a great scene.

- the adrenalin injection in "Pulp Fiction" was intense
or
- the chicken in the Intro of "City of God"

As much as I hate this series because it's obvious they ran out of money for the budget and was just horribly shot/directed/acted, the fight at the end of the mini-series "DUNE" is by far one of my favorite scenes.

That and also the end of "Brigham City" is just powerful after you've experienced everything that just went on in that film in how the town was just decimated and totally lost it's innocence. If you haven't seen that film yet you should try to find it (it's an amazing film http://imdb.com/title/tt0268200/)

I'm leaning towards most of the movies in which Daniel Day-Lewis stars in (I'm a huge fan of course).

Some notable ones are:
- Any of the fight / running scenes from the Last of the Mohicans.
- Milkshake speech scene from There Will be Blood.
- Scenes between Bill "the Butcher" Cutting and Leonardo DiCaprio's character.

Trying to narrow down certain scenes for me is actually impossible. Everything Day-Lewis does is gold really, so I'm going to say any scene he's in gets my vote.

If I had to choose one scene though (besides the ones mentioned above), it has to be the final scene in which Kevin Costner and his Dad end up playing catch in Field of Dreams. I can't watch that scene without getting teary-eyed, even in public.

Mine's gotta be the wonderfully ridiculous fight scene between Roddy Piper and Keith David in John Carpenter's "They Live"

"Put the glasses on!" ha ha

A few years ago, my friend and I made a short film with a fight scene spoofing the one from They Live. If it weren't an embarrassingly terrible movie, I'd show it.

In keeping with the topic:

I don't know if that's the best scene ever, but I love Faces, and I love that scene. This one is also great:

I <3 Werner Herzog.

The Thing-where the Head Grew legs
Hard Boiled-Warehouse Shoot out scene
Matrix-Lobby Shoot out
Forrest Gump-Where he see's his son for the first time
Predator-When Bill Duke sees the predator and flattens the jungle
Dead Alive-"I kick ass for the Lord!" if you have seen it you know.
Good Will Hunting-"it's not your fault.." scene with robin williams
Tango and cash-pretty much all of it

I'm Gonna Get You Sucka! All the Veteran Blaxploitation Heroes and the New Blood are gearing up for the final battle with Mr. Big. Isaac Hayes is stuffing pistols into every available place on his body, and tops it all off with an M-60 and ammo belt ala Rambo. As they are walking out of the Warehouse, he slips on a shell casing, his feet fly up and he comes down hard, causing every weapon on his body to go off... for several moments! Man I laughed so hard, I couldn't breathe or see!

LMAO. That IS a good one. That scene still kills me.

One of the best comedies out there. Chris Rock's rib scene is one of the funniest scenes ever. It's also the best thing Chris Rock has ever done.
