best scene ever

Oh, this is tough in that I can name a bazillion...

But here's a few that quickly come to mind:

1. CINEMA PARADISO - The closing scene where Toto takes the reel that Alfredo left for him and puts it up on the projector and all those cut out scenes play... I cry everytime I watch it. Magic!

2. RAGING BULL - The fight scenes, particularly the one fight where Sugar Ray Robinson beats LaMotta to a pulp that includes that shot where LaMotta is splayed open against the rope like Christ, hot wind whistling.. wow! Also the fight where LaMotta kicks ass and he just knocked the kid on his ass and he circles around the ring, like stalking his prey, and Scorsese slowly overcranks the camera to go slo-mo and then quickly cranks it back to normal as he walks toward the camera as the other boxer, ready to do more damage. Brilliant! I LOVE THIS FILM!!!!

3. BLUE VELVET - The whole Ben's place scene, especially when Dean Stockwell as Ben lip-syncs Orbison's "In Dreams" for Frank (Dennis Hopper).

"Yes, that's a human ear all right..."

So when I watch Blue Velvet, I laugh a lot. Some people look at me like I'm crazy. Anybody else find this film funny in a lot of parts?

Come on, it's hysterical, in a very dark Lynchian way. I also find parts of Lost Highway hilarious, like the scene where Robert Loggia pushes a tailgater off the road and proceeds to punch him senseless while reciting highway safety statistics.

I watched Blue Velvet a few years ago and I liked parts. Other parts just weirded me out.

That one was a very beautiful and intense scene, no doubt.

Glengarry Glen Ross - Alec Baldwin

Blake: You see this watch? You see this watch?
Dave Moss: Yeah.
Blake: That watch costs more than your car. I made $970,000 last year. How much you make? You see pal, that's who I am, and you're nothing. Nice guy? I don't give a sh*t. Good father? F*ck you! Go home and play with your kids. You wanna work here - close! You think this is abuse? You think this is abuse, you c*cksucker? You can't take this, how can you take the abuse you get on a sit? You don't like it, leave.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Blake: You got leads. Mitch & Murray paid good money. Get their names to sell them. You can't close the leads you're given, you can't close sh*t, *you are* sh*t, hit the bricks pal, and beat it, 'cause you are going *out*.
Shelley Levene: The leads are weak.
Blake: "The leads are weak." The f*cking leads are weak? You're weak. I've been in this business fifteen years...
Dave Moss: What's your name?
Blake: F*ck you. That's my name.
[Moss laughs]
Blake: You know why, mister? 'Cause you drove a Hyundai to get here tonight, I drove an eighty thousand dollar BMW. *That's* my name.

i bet alot of u havent even seen this movie but, the best movie ever made is RUMBLE FISH. and the scene is when the motorcycle boy rides up and says, "whats this, another glorious battle for the kingdom?"

if u havent seen it watch it now.

btw, my avatar is a still from that scene.

#1 The scene in The Abyss when They decide to let her (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) die so they can swim to the other submarine and (Ed Harris) slaps the **** out of her trying to bring her back to life.

#2 In Boogie Nights when they go to sell the bag of coke (baking soda) to the whacked out crackhead in his undies and robe while "Motorin'" is playing in the background and some Asian boy is setting off fire crackers.

Opening scene of Gangs of New York when the Dead Rabbits march from the bowels of New York led by Vallon, preparing for a gang war with the natives, culminating in Monk kicking open the doors to a snowy Five Points.

That's one of those films I can always watch when it comes on tv (alluding to another thread).

Even better

The entire sequence starting with Cameron Diaz taking knife throws in GANGS OF NEW YORK, culminating withLeo trying to take out The Butcher.

"Oopsie Daisy !"
