Okay, I'll ask them anyway and see. Maybe i'll just use the internal preamp in the DVX.

That's what I love about Guerrilla filmmaking. We need to think creatively to get the job done. I'll do some audio samples on the Senn 404 when i get it and post them.

I mean should i get a round one or a cylinder type one? I guess I should just measure the diameter when it gets here... But what is the best type to use for dialogue in a scene on a boom.

the one you show is fine as long as you don't swing the boom too fast and get rumble. I would get black though. I suppose you would really really know if it is in the shot if it is green though.

Right, it's good for actors too, they need to wait for that mic to be 12"-18" above and in front of them" before they speak (you taught me that), so if its brighter they'll see it easier in their peripheral. I got those cool green XRL chords too on B and H.

Okay, so I go the Senn 404 hooked it up to my DVX and all I could hear was static. I twisted the cap off where the XRL plugs into and 2 of the 3 wires were broken off from the soldering. The blue wire was connected but the Black and the Red were not. I called Coffey Sound and they appologized and said if I return it they will give me "credit" toward another product? I told them I didn't have time because we are shooting next weekend and I need THAT mic. They said to take it somewhere and have the wires soldered and to send them the bill and they'll put that amount toward my next purchase. Why would they say "excellent working condition" on the website if it doesn't work?! Oh well... Just another road bump.

I had the Senn 404 Soldered, it works now!

I searched the forums with no luck.

Are there any posts on how to secure your XRL wire to the boom pole and mic to avoid handling noise?

I have the PSC Universal Shock Mount -- Small, but I'm still getting a lot of "wiggle".

I'm going to post sound samples of the Senn 404 later today.
