'Best' quality slo-mo..Shoot 60fps OR 24-30 and use Twixtor in post?

Always thought the 'preferred' way of shooting slo-mo footage was to shoot at 60fps on my 7D and then conform the footage down to 24p in post. However, have come across a couple threads saying that 60fps 7D footage looks 'terrible' (without elaboration) ad that using Twixtor was the better option.
Anyone care to comment?
 
Don't know what they're talking about - 60fps footage conformed to 24p (in Cinema tools) will always look better than footage that is Twixtored to the same speed. That being said, you may not notice any of the visual abnormalities created by the Twixtored footage, so YMMV.

I like doing 60p and using Twixtor in some shots, the effect can look crazy smooth when you slow down to 25%.
