Best program for cool text effects?

Hey guys,

I own the Final Cut Studio 5.1 (uprgarded now), and was wondering if it is possible using either FCP or Motion to do the kind of text effects you see in the opening of Dawn of the Dead (remake 2004), how the text seems to be a liquid blown by a straw or something? If it is possible how to I go about it?

Thanks in advance,

You might want to try LiveType to accomplish something like that. I wouldn't be surprised if one of the things in there would allow you to do something prett similar. Otherwise I'd break out After Effects. AE has a tone of support out there because it is so widely used and also has a tone of 3rd party filters/add-ons out there as well, so you can often find a lot of the leg work done for you already. Good luck.

You may also want to check out the new Apple Pro Training Series book that is out (or just about to come out) that deals with Visual Effects. It might be a good reference to keep at hand.

Apple Pro Training Series: Encyclopedia of Visual Effects

cheers.
