Of the films I've seen above...

Slumdog Millionaire
The Dark Knight
Wall-E

(Benjamin Button doesn't even make the list, as I really didn't like it at all)

I had to vote for "Other," not because I wanted to be contrary, but because there is no doubt for me that the best film I watched was 4 Months, 3 Weeks, 2 Days.

I saw it on DVD. It has a slow start and then becomes the most riveting film I've seen in an awfully long time. The tension is intense, but entirely internalized and emotional--it's all about the characters' dilemmas. It has some very innovative style choices too. But it's a story that you can't get out of your mind. I've sorta already forgotten about Slumdog.

4 months 3 weeks and 2 days was fantastic but it should be 2007, very poignant film and the style was amazing. I'll never forget the scene when the blonde girl goes to eat dinner, I was absorbed to the max.

I need to go see Slumdog and Benjamin Button again this week and decide how I really feel about them, but either way I don't see them being able to break a top 3 list of 2008.
