Best Noga Arm for supporting Marshall or similar HD monitor?

I keep trying different Noga Arm models but some of them are simply too weak to hold the Marshall steady. Obviously I'm buying the models that claim they support more than the weight of the monitor but I'm starting to distrust these claims.

If anyone has a model that they are happy with please recommend. Thanks!

i am using an arm from ultralight control systems for my nebtek which i find way easier to use and more rigid than the noga arms their web site is ulcs.com check them out or give rob a call at nebtek and he will get you the right one for the monitor you are using

Thanks Mark, it looks like you have to tighten each joint separately. Is that correct? Maybe it's not that big of a deal if it's sturdier than the Noga.

I really can't remember which Noga I'm using but it works fine for supporting my Marshall. I use another for the Firestore. I got them both at Zacuto.

marco yes you tighten each joint separately which i like because it makes fine tuning your setup a snap and these joints are easy to tighten securly for a rock solid mount

I got this kit from Nebtek:

...but fitted out with the heavy duty Noga arm, on Rob's recommendation (Rob is a very smart guy who works for Nebtek).

Like too many products, Noga evidently overrates the load capacity of their arms, so given the hefty weight of the Marshall, the heavier-duty one is preferred.

The package shown above includes a Bogen "Superclamp" and an adapter that allows the arm/monitor to be clamped onto a tripod leg (or another location) very firmly. It creates a nice solid mount, and what I like best is that the monitor no longer moves with the camera. You can pan and tilt and the monitor stays put - right in your line of sight. With LCDs this is particularly nice because they change contrast drastically as they go off axis.

Highly recommended.

Zacuto Zamerican arms. They come in various lengths, are a lot stronger than the Noga's I've used, and have a whole system to help you support everything from a monitor to a firestore to a camera! www.zacuto.com

VfGadgets has these really cool options for larger monitors to mount to light stands. I have a 23" partial HD screen that I need to mount to eye level to pose as a teleprompter. I'm thinking about getting one of those arms.
