Best lossless format for compression

I'm working with 1440x1080 HDV raw footage and need a final output of 640x360 .f4v

I'm using media encoder for the final compression since I haven't found .f4v output in vegas.

My question is whats the best lossless format to render out of Vegas for import into media encoder.

You don't need to do it this way. Here's how:
1. You edit with Vegas.
2. You export using either the Main Concept or Sony AVC h.264 encoders in .MP4.
3. You run the MP4 file via this utility which will make it streamable: http://eugenia.gnomefiles.org/2009/07/13/tip-make-your-mp4-web-exports-stream/
4. You are done. Any Flash app that can read .f4v, it can also read perfectly these MP4 files too. You can try it to verify.

As for a free intermediate codec, you can install and use either Lagarith or Avid's DNxHD. Both freeware.
