Best Lens for Interviews

Hi all. I'm preparing to shoot a documentary in September and it will be almost entirely made up of interviews. I'll be shooting with the Canon 7D and am looking for a good lens (hopefully under $400) to use for the interviews. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

By the way, you can read more about the documentary on our Indiegogo campaign page: http://igg.me/at/little-answers
