I just purchased a Samsung 910t LCD monitor to use as a 2nd monitor for Final Cut Pro video editing. While editing a fast action sequence I noticed that the monitor has ghosting issues that not only distort the action, but give me a headache. While doing web research, I discovered that the Samsung 910t has a 25ms response time. I never noticed the ghosting on my powerbook G4 LCD, and was wondering whether anyone knows what the response time on the built-in LCD is.
I’m considering exchanging this monitor for the Samsung 710t, which has a 12ms response time. Does anyone have any experience with 12ms monitors while doing fast-paced video editing? I would believe that 12ms response time should be sufficient to eliminate ghosting, as the 20+ inch Apple LCD monitors all have a 16ms response time, and I’m certain that Apple would design those monitors with video editors in mind.
Thanks,
Alex
