Best LAV Mic's

Hey guys,

A company I work for is buying 4 LAV's for a trade show. They would like to know which would be the BEST when all are on at the same time and the sales guys are walking around all day. I'll also get to keep these Mic's after for filmwork, so they need to serve a dual purpose.

Whatever price range...but not too crazy.

Thanks.

2 transmitter and 2 hard lavs , you will need phantom power these mics
how much you like to spend , just dont write as less as posible :-)

Yes, we're thinking of picking up 2 transmitters...

If you want 4 wireless lavs, you will need 4 transmitters and 4 receivers.
Lectrosonics 211 or 400 series would be a good choice.

I can spend anywhere between $500-$1000 Canadian per Mic (So $400 to $900 American??)

Where getting 5 now actually...

i guess that 2200 would buy you 5 g-2 systems in usa ( dont know what about tax to canada)

for lavaliers , if you intend keep all of them it depends what do you will to throw
from 175 for the emw from country man to 460 for dpa 4061 ( inc microdot to mini jack adaptors)
if you intend keep only 2 or 3 after the show , buy 2-3 good mics and live the selsmans with me4 cardioids which come with the mic
i use sankens for film jobs , n-1 for me along time
about 300 us a peace ( by the way iknow agood place to buy them as well :- pm me ))
also headbands would work better for trade shows as there is allot of noise around , something cheap as good as any other for that purpes

I agree with Oleg, headworn mics might work best here - Countryman makes a model called the E6 (essentially a B6 with a slight modification placement). I think DPA makes a head-worn version, too, or an adapter for their standard lav to shift to head-worn.

What about the Sennheiser "Evolution" Lav's...Seems like a complete package for 599.00 per piece. I lke there boom Mics and Headphones, but have not used their Lav's...

the lavs which comes with g-2 are **** - they are no good for normal film work , but they are good for what you buy them ,( the me4 cardioid not me omny)
you dont need hand held transmitters as well maybe one if the situation will be to noisy so the presenter can hold dynamic mic in his hand .
and as i mentioned you will be better with headbands , check whith sennheiser if they have complete packeges whith this mic and not lavalier
the one phil did mention is just to good for your goal - waist of money

for film project buy better lavaliers
by the way the g-2 tx /rx with the shity lav could be found for less then 450 us incl shipping .

i would say hands down the best lav microphone on the market is the SANKEN COS-11.
everyone has their preference and it is difficult to A/B every mic, but i would take this over any other at any price. i have 8 lectrosonics and the SANKEN will always be at the top of my list

Hi, I can buy the (used) Sanken COS-11 BP it's a lavalier mic with the power supply and 6 pins Lemo connector. Is there a way to connect that to the Sennheiser G2? As I understand it I can use it without the transmitter directly on the XLR camera connection, but how to create a solution from 6p Lemo --> for the 1/8" (3.5mm) Mini Connector?

I am going to call someone in Holland for that, you have the COS-11 BP version too? (battery version + 12-52V Ph)
